About EDC Cell – Caussanel College of Arts and Science

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Caussanel College of Arts and Science is committed to nurturing entrepreneurial talent and fostering an innovative mindset among students. The cell serves as a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to explore business ideas, develop skills, and transform their creativity into viable ventures.

EDC organizes a wide range of activities including entrepreneurship awareness programs, workshops, seminars, startup boot camps, and interactions with successful entrepreneurs and industry experts. These initiatives provide students with practical exposure to the world of business, helping them understand market trends, business strategies, and the challenges of entrepreneurship.

The cell aims to empower students with the confidence, knowledge, and skills required to become job creators rather than job seekers. By encouraging innovation, leadership, and critical thinking, EDC plays a vital role in shaping future entrepreneurs who contribute to economic growth and societal development.

School Innovation Development Project (SIDP 4.0) Training Programme

The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute of Tamil Nadu (EDII-TN), in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu School Education Department, has been implementing the School Innovation Development Project (SIDP) since 2022. Launched by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, this initiative aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students of government and government-aided high and higher secondary schools across all districts of Tamil Nadu. UNICEF serves as the knowledge partner of this project. Every year, awareness sessions on innovation and entrepreneurship are conducted, and student innovation ideas are recognized with awards ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000, benefitting 60 teams annually. This year marks the launch of SIDP 4.0. As part of this, a training programme for mentor teachers of Ramanathapuram District was conducted at Caussanel College of Arts and Science, Muthupettai. Over three days, 294 teachers (100 each day) received training. The sessions focused on: • How to register schools on the official SIDP portal • Creating awareness on innovation and entrepreneurship among school students • Completing online learning modules for teachers and students • Developing innovative ideas and registering them online The training programme was graced by the presence of Mr. Prince Arokiya Raj, Chief Educational Officer of Ramanathapuram, Rev. Bro. A. Edward Francis SHJ, Secretary of Caussanel College, Rev. Bro. Dr. L. Soosainathan SHJ, Principal, and Rev. Bro. Dr. T. Arul Raj SHJ, Dean, who attended as special guests. The event was well organized by Mr. Vijayakumar, District Eco Coordinator, Mr. Ponvelmurugan, District Project Manager, and Mrs.S. Sathya, Assistant Professor, Caussanel College of Arts and Science.

Caussanel College of Arts & Science Selected as District Hub for EDII-TN

We are proud to announce that Caussanel College of Arts & Science, Muthupettai, has been selected as the District Hub for EDII-TN (Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute of Tamil Nadu) in Ramanathapuram District under the TNYIEDP Schemes. This prestigious recognition will serve as a platform to foster innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students, nurturing them into future entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow. Through this initiative, the college will play a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring young minds, equipping them with the skills and opportunities required to transform their ideas into successful ventures.
